Boot scootin' and toes 'a' tappin' - a little line dancing can take you a long way!

Dancing in the street …and in a lot of other places too. There’s line dancing all over the place in downtown Festival Tamworth.
There is the annual Australian Line Dance Championship which began 17 years ago. The foot fun is big from beginners’ classes, to strutting your stuff all over the place. During the Festival, it’s a lickety-split impromptu thing – you can pick up a partner in most parts of the city. Just step it out, sing a tune and see what you can start.
The most well known line dancing event at the Festival is the Longest Line Dance world record attempt. In 2009, the record was broken with 3,392 boot-scooters taking part.
Saturday 22 January 2011, 9am (warm up from 8.00am)
Peel Street
Purchase a dance ticket in the street or pre-purchase from Tamworth Visitor Information Centre or Festival HQ. All money raised is donated to children's charities.
